Private walking tour: Ambrosian Basilicas and Medieval Milan

Private walking tour: Ambrosian Basilicas and Medieval Milan

In the second half of the 4th century, Milan underwent a significant transformation, largely due to the influential and visionary efforts of Bishop Ambrose.

His promotion of the construction of numerous places of worship marked the beginning of the Ambrosian basilicas. These iconic structures were built just outside the Roman city walls, strategically positioned along the main routes leading into the city.

Join us on this fascinating tour to explore the rich history and architectural splendor of these ancient sites. Discover how Bishop Ambrose’s legacy continues to shape Milan’s spiritual and cultural landscape to this day.
